Hear From Our Community

Hear from some of our disability support participants, and their support workers, as they share life at Woodville Alliance: learning new skills, building friendships and taking part in the community.

“Woodville Alliance is very friendly. I always feel connected with what my daughter is doing at the service and how we can achieve outcomes for her. We work together on difficult days and I know I can talk to them with any concerns.” - Parent
“I love coming to Woodville Alliance. I have friends here and we have fun, it’s never boring.” Participant
“It has been an amazing experience with Woodville; I could not have ever imagined that our son could live away from home independently on his own. He’s so much happier. Thank you, Woodville.” Parent
“There was no way I was going to miss out on a holiday to Canberra. I liked pretty much everything – visiting Parliament House, War Memorial and all of Canberra city. I also enjoyed spending time with friends and stay in a nice accommodation.” Client
“I was very happy when Woodville asked me and my husband to join in the interview for the recruitment of a disability support worker for Mary. My Mary is a very happy and active person. It was important to match her with the right worker. She enjoys activities like writing, piano, dancing and going to the gym. She has also completed volunteered work and a few work experiences arranged by Woodville.” Parent
“Wendy is my clever girl. She enjoys maths and puzzles like ‘finding a word’. She has a very special connection with many of the staff at Woodville – it’s her happy place! And she is always excited to go to Woodville.” Parent
“I really appreciate the care and effort Woodville provides my young adult daughter Sarah. The staff at Woodville talks to me often and together we have been able to provide Sarah with the right level of support. Sarah is a very bright girl and she enjoys many interests at Woodville.” Parent

Connection begins with listening. Change begins with understanding.
This Reconciliation Week, we reflect on our shared history and the role we each play in shaping a more just and inclusive future.

At Woodville Alliance, our values of Connection, Diversity and Social Justice guide how we walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — recognising the strength of culture, community, and voice. We are committed to creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected.

Reconciliation is not a moment, but an ongoing journey. It’s in the relationships we build, the respect we show, and the actions we take every day.

Let’s continue to listen, learn, and stand together.

🌙 Eid al-Adha Mubarak to all those celebrating in our community.

Eid al-Adha is a time of reflection, generosity, compassion and connection — values that strongly align with the spirit of Woodville Alliance. It is an opportunity to come together with family, friends and community, while recognising the importance of kindness, gratitude and supporting one another.

At Woodville Alliance, we celebrate the diversity of the communities we serve and the many cultures, traditions and faiths that enrich our organisation every day.

Wishing everyone celebrating a joyful and peaceful Eid filled with happiness, connection and togetherness. ✨

🌙 Eid al-Adha Mub

Finding the right disability support is about more than services — it’s about feeling understood, connected and confident.
At Woodville Alliance, we recognise the importance of culturally responsive support and speaking the language of our community. Our diverse team helps participants and families feel more comfortable navigating the NDIS and accessing the support they need.

Choosing a registered NDIS provider is more important than ever for long-term safety and peace of mind. Woodville Alliance is proud to be among only 6% of NDIS providers nationwide to hold registration. Combined with our 40-year legacy as a local not-for-profit organisation, this ensures that your loved one can enjoy support in a safe, inclusive and culturally respected environment.

No matter your background or the language you speak at home, our doors are open.

Finding the right di

We’re excited to introduce one of the newer faces in our Meet Our ELC Educators series — Miss Sarah.

In her first few months at Woodville Alliance, Sarah has already built strong connections with the children — something she values most in her role. For her, it’s the trust, smiles and everyday interactions that make early learning so meaningful.

With a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and speaking Chinese and some Vietnamese, Sarah brings warmth and care into the classroom, helping children feel comfortable, supported and ready to learn.

From celebrating special events to sharing quiet moments of connection, Sarah is already making a positive impact on our ELC community.

As we wrap up our Meet Our ELC Educators series for now, we thank you for getting to know the incredible people behind our Early Learning and Care — a team dedicated to creating safe, nurturing environments where every child can thrive. 💛

There’s nothing better than seeing a child smile — and for Miss Dalia, that’s what it’s all about.

As part of our Meet Our ELC Educators series, we’re introducing Dalia, who has been with Woodville Alliance for 3 years.
With a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and speaking English and Arabic, Dalia brings energy and positivity into the classroom every day. She loves creating fun, engaging moments — from playtime to singing along to favourites like Baby Shark! 🎶

For Dalia, it’s the simple things that matter most — children feeling happy, confident and excited to learn.
At Woodville Alliance, these everyday moments help build a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

What does great early learning look like?

For Miss Alfi, it’s about understanding how each child learns — and adapting in the moment to support their growth.
With 3.5 years at Woodville Alliance and as an Accredited Conditional Teacher, Alfie brings a thoughtful, curious approach to the classroom. She speaks English and Indonesian and values the everyday exchange of ideas — not just with children, but with fellow educators too.

From classic stories like Three Little Pigs to signing along to Sing a Rainbow, Alfie creates learning experiences that are playful, inclusive and meaningful.
And outside the classroom? You’ll likely find her exploring new places in search of great coffee.

Because at Woodville Alliance, it’s educators like Alfi who keep learning alive — for everyone.
